Air Duct Cleaning

Are you seeingĀ small feathery dust puffing out from an air duct when you turn your heating ventilation and air conditional (HVAC) system on? Have you found dust or pet hair trapped in a vent? If so, your ducts might be in for a good cleaning.

Dead skin, hair and pet dander latch onto the small particles of dust on air duct surfaces, vents, motors and coils. This creates the perfect environment for bacteria, dust mites and allergens to flourish. While air filters help remove this from the air, they are still trapped in parts of the HVAC system. This is why it’s important to have ducts checked regularly – especially when they ā€œlookā€ dirty.

Below is the Restoworx process for air duct cleaning:

  • AssessĀ the operational state of the HVAC System (before cleaning).
  • Clean the supply ductwork.
  • Clean the return air ductwork.
  • Remove, clean and reset:
    • Supply registers
    • Return air grilles
    • Assess visible cleanliness of registers, grilles and diffusers
    • Determine whether registers, grilles and diffusers properly reset
  • Access and clean:
    • Supply air plenum
    • Return air plenum
    • Assess whether supply plenum is free of moisture, stains and contaminants
    • Assess whether theĀ return air plenum free of visible dust and debris
  • Check Installation Access Panels (as needed)
  • Clean the air-stream side of the heat exchanger
  • Clean the secondary heat exchanger
  • Remove, clean and reinstall:
  • Clean Blower motor; housing & assembly
  • Replace the air filter
  • Wash the air cleaner
